Masters Handball World Cup 2026: Handcrafted Trophies, 2,000+ Players, One Unforgettable Week

The most important tournament in the world of masters handball, the Masters Handball World Cup, will once again push the boundaries next May (20-24th), when former stars from several continents gather for the ninth time in Omiš and Makarska. The fact that what visitors of the masters handball capital of the world on the Adriatic have been experiencing for years is attracting huge attention is best confirmed by the record number of registered teams, who will compete across nine age categories.

A total of 82 teams from 20 countries (Croatia, Romania, Ireland, Poland, Germany, Slovenia, Egypt, Spain, Lithuania, Turkey, Hungary, Denmark, Brazil, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Italy, Chile, Portugal, Ukraine, and Norway) from three continents will fight for unique, handcrafted trophies and medals—keepsakes for a lifetime. With a rich accompanying program across four arenas in two cities, top-class hotels on one of Europe’s most beautiful coastlines, and spectacular opening and closing ceremonies, MHWC has become an unmissable meeting point for handball people from all over the world.

With more than 2,000 participants and an almost equal number of men and women taking part, the tournament’s colorful mix of people from different parts of the globe—bringing positive energy wherever they go—creates an atmosphere that stays in your memory forever.

“A large number of teams have been returning to MHWC for an entire decade. It reflects their trust, but it also means we have a responsibility to keep raising the bar. This year, we’ve prepared new additions that will elevate both the competition itself and the time spent off the court, making everything more fun and easier for all participants. We will introduce a FAN Corner and a KIDS Corner, as we’ve noticed that many people come with their families. We want to make their stay at the tournament more enjoyable and convenient,” say the MHWC organizing team, who published the group draws four months before the tournament.

As part of the side program, a WALL OF CHAMPIONS will also be installed as a tribute to all the handball greats who have visited Omiš over the past ten years and helped MHWC become what it is today—a true brand in the world of masters sport, built around the slogan “GAME IS NOT OVER.”

    See you there.
